Same story. A different frame.

Adapting content means reconsidering how the idea works in each format, not simply changing the dimensions.

A video built for a wide screen may need a different composition, pace, or text treatment when it moves to a vertical feed. A long piece may also contain several smaller stories, each with its own useful starting point.

Adapt around the viewing experience

Consider where the viewer will encounter the content, how much context they already have, and how the platform presents it. Keep the central message consistent while giving each version a structure that makes sense on its own.

  • Identify the message each version should carry.
  • Reconsider framing for the aspect ratio.
  • Check text size and safe areas.
  • Adjust the opening when context changes.
  • Prepare captions where appropriate.
  • Review every exported version separately.

Planning for different formats early can make adaptation more deliberate. The goal is for each version to feel complete in the place where it appears.
